Kofi Osafo Sampong

Mr. Kofi Osafo Sampong is a seasoned investment banker and civil engineer with over two decades of experience spanning capital markets, corporate finance, infrastructure advisory, and civil engineering. He currently serves as the Managing Director of Algebra Securities Limited, where he leads strategic transactions and capital market engagements across Ghana and other key African markets.

Kofi began his career in civil engineering before transitioning into finance, where he rose through the ranks at First Atlantic Bank. Over a 12-year period, he held leadership roles in Corporate Finance, Institutional Banking, and Brokerage Services. As General Manager of First Atlantic Brokers, he spearheaded the firm’s rise from a market ranking of 17th to 2nd within four years and led landmark transactions including:

• The acquisition of Ayrton Drug Manufacturing by Adcock Ingram of South Africa.

• The 7.5% block trade of HFC Bank by Ghana Cocoa Board.

Mr. Sampong has led mandates in capital raising, valuations, due diligence, and private placements for institutions such as TV3 Network, Fidelity Bank, Bond Savings and Loans, and Ghana Amalgamated Trust. He was also instrumental in building strategic broker partnerships across Africa to unlock cross-border deal flows.

In addition to his investment banking credentials, Kofi is a trained civil engineer with extensive experience managing urban infrastructure projects, water rehabilitation works, and tertiary education construction in Ghana.

He holds an MBA in International Management from the Stuttgart Institute of Management and Technology in Germany and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Civil Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He has also undergone executive training in capital markets at the New York Institute of Finance and participated in leadership, valuation, and treasury programs across Africa, the U.S., and Europe.
